The Secret Garden of the Hansens - The Ordrupgaard Collection, exhibition

From Friday, September 15 2017 to Monday, January 22 2018

True artistic treasures.

The Ordrupgaard collection was created by a Danish art-loving couple, Wilhelm (1868-1936) and Henny (1870-1951) Hansen.
A businessman with a passion for art, an independent and visionary spirit, in just two years, between 1916 and 1918, Wilhelm Hansen put together a collection of works representative of Impressionism and Post-Impressionism from the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries that’s unique in Europe. A selection of more than 40 paintings is on display for the first time in Paris, at the Jacquemart-André Museum.
From Corot to Cézanne and Matisse via Monet and Pissarro, this exhibition highlights treasures which are little known in France. Such iconic artists as Degas, Manet, Courbet and Gauguin will also be honoured.
