Degas Danse Dessin. A tribute to Degas with Paul Valéry, exhibition

From Tuesday, November 28 2017 to Sunday, February 25 2018

Artistic friendship

2017 marks the centenary of the disappearance of Edgar Degas. A chance for the Musée d'Orsay to pay homage to this artist in the context of an exhibition which compares Edgar Degas and Paul Valéry. This writer, poet and thinker had a friendship of over twenty years with Edgar Degas, a friendship reflected in the work Degas Danse Dessin published in 1937.
Drawings from Edgar Degas (but also paintings and sculptures) and notebooks from Paul Valéry are compared, allowing for an even deeper immersion in the art of two major artists.
