Love and Revolution.
The Orangerie Museum presents an exhibition dedicated to a couple of legendary Mexican artists, Diego Rivera (1886-1957) and Frida Kahlo (1907-1954).
The exhibition presents their works together, as if to illustrate their tempestous and passionate relationship. The couple divorced in 1938, but questioned after one year of separation.
It also allows better glimpse their artistic worlds, so different yet so complementary. They shared ideals and a vision of a better future for Mexico: they were staunch supporters of the Revolution. Their works evoke important themes such as the cycle of life and death, revolution and religion, mysticism and realism, and workers and peasants.
